Responsibility & Policy: This webinar will go over the product stewardship and Extended Producer Responsibility laws in California, regarding materials such as carpet, mattresses, paint, and pharmaceuticals/needles. In September 2018, CPSC helped pass the first-in-the-nation EPR law for both medicine and sharps disposal. As California learns from the successes and challenges with each product stewardship and EPR program, laws are updated and changed regularly.

Dr. Joanne Brasch of the California Product Stewardship Council will present on bills in the legislature directly related to producer responsibility and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each proposed bill.
