Gain insight into the various systems needed to collect resources from residential, commercial and industrial establishments.

In this course, you’ll learn about:

-Different waste streams and collection categories
-Optimization of diversion and costs
-The types of bins and carts that are available and best for each situation
- Sorting, processing and marketing of recyclable materials
- Material management options: WTE, MRF, Landfill, Incineration, Compost facilities
- Contamination impacts and resolution
- Evaluation of carbon footprint, greenhouse gas emissions, job potential, and life cycles of various options
- Tools and metrics to design, implement, and oversee sustainable management programs
